Celluloid Dreams with Charles Moriarty

£60.00

28th March 2026
South London Louie
65 Peckham Rd, London SE5 8UH

Join us in celebrating Charles Moriarty’s latest publication ‘Brock’, with a menu inspired by his 25 year photographic journey. The evening will consist of a welcome drinks and Q&A, a walk through of seminal work from Charles archive, and never before seen artworks produced exclusively for this dinner. His previous books ‘Before Frank’ and ‘X’ will also be available for viewing.

Menu

Dumpling Soup
Chicken bone broth with pork and scallion dumplings reminiscent of a curb-side Chinese take. Taken from memories of shooting for Amy Winehouse’s debut album ‘Frank’ in NY city

Chicken, Broccoli and Rice
Brock Yurik inspires our mains, of course, with these elevated body building staples. Roasted chicken, quartered and served family style alongside rice simmered in stock with a variety of brassicas and dips.

Knickerbocker Glory
Conspicuous consumption becomes a guilty pleasure as we reconstruct this classic Sundae. Raspberry Coulis, Whipped cream and vanilla ice hidden beneath a crisp wafer.

Vegetarian options available on request

Along with the food, Will Martin has also made a limited edition series of ceramic tableware for the evening, in response to Charles’ reoccurring themes of intimacy, identity and queer experience. Dina Bhujel is our sous chef for the evening, making her trademark momo dumplings alongside porcelain versions which will be available in the evenings gift bag. This collector’s edition gift bag will also contain the evening’s menu, one of Will’s wheel thrown soup bowls, and an exclusive print by Charles Moriarty.
