The Leftovers

Artist Will Martin and curator Davy Pittoors invite you to The Leftovers: a two-night intimate dinner series celebrating Davy's upcoming Queeriosities Art and Makers Fair at the Museum of the Home.

The holiday season can be especially challenging for our community, and The Leftovers in particular seeks to celebrate our friendships and chosen families to reclaim festive cheer and queer joy.

The three-course menu will feature nostalgic holiday comfort foods with ample options for vegetarians and meat-eaters alike, all served on Will's handmade ceramic tableware.

Before gathering around the table, guests will also gain access to an exclusive preview of selected objects and artworks that will be presented at the Queeriosities fair. Guests will also receive complimentary tickets to the Queeriosities Preview Night on Friday 1st of December.

Queeriosities: Winter Edition

Curated by Davy Pittoors, Queeriosities returns to Museum of the Home on Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 December 2023. Building on the success of May’s inaugural event, the fair will celebrate LGBTQIA+ artists, makers, and small businesses, inviting them to come together and share work that explores the relationship between identity and home. Will Martin will be delving into his archive to bring you a selection of tableware from the last two years of his acclaimed Artist’s Dinners.

This Winter edition of Queeriosities will play on the concept of a traditional festive market, featuring more than 40 vendors offering a unique selection of thought-provoking ceramics, paintings, sculpture, textiles, books, ephemera, homeware and gifts.

Alongside the fair, the Museum will also actively gather LGBTQ+ stories, opinions, and objects as part of their new Real Rooms project. Visitor contributions throughout the weekend will directly shape a more immersive and diverse LGBTQ+ room display in the near future.

“I’ve made 200 water bottles for Heart Shoreditch using excavated forms and local clays. Each room will have one for guests to use, with an installation in the lobby explaining my process and materials. This is set within a major installation by James Daw titled ‘The Fundamentals of Caring, a theme I also explore in this new, substantial body of work.”

Everything Now
A Supper Club inspired by the sensuous energy of the Heath

You’ve been invited to a friend-of-a-friend’s summer barbecue on the Heath. You can’t find them near the mixed ponds so you wander into the verdant undergrowth, nettles and bracken lined paths guiding you further than expected. Tesco bag swinging, loaded with astringent crisps and a bottle of rosé, you spot some movement through the bushes, a gathering of a different sort...

Curator Davy Pittoors and artist Will Martin will collaborate with plant-based foodist and writer Barney Pau and design house Everything Now Design on a dinner that will emulate the sensuous energy of the Heath. Expect a summer afternoon of adventurous food, dynamic conversation and unexpected creativity.
